Customer Feedback

“I am equally impressed with the professional and efficient manner in which you were able to maneuver the boat, clear the lines and prep the boat to in order to land this massive fish. I didn‘t even realize the work that you were doing for my benefit until we had the fish netted and in the boat. To me, that is the best advertising for your business! Showing me how well you do your job speaks louder than anyone telling me how well they can do their job. Blackfeather Charters really knows their stuff.”

197 pound Halibut

This is the largest halibut of the season so far.
Rusty hooked into a small turbot, and was just starting to reel it up when this this halibut swallowed up the turbot and hook whole. The line peeled out and we knew we had a good fish on. After a good fight, he got it to the surface, and when it rolled from under the boat, we were all surprised at the size. Back went the gaff and out came the harpoon! We cleared the decks since a big halibut like this flopping around can cause some serious damage to guests and the boat. A well placed harpoon and strong rope ensured that this monster fish wasn't getting away.
Getting a fish this big from the water into the boat on some boats can be a challenge, but the back door on the Boston Whaler 255 Conquest is perfect for sliding these big fish into the boat.
Congratulations Rusty on a fish of a lifetime! I wish Jess and Anna were here to see it.
