Salmon, salmon and salmon

We picked up some new Shimano mooching rods for the boat and had a morning to try them out. I went out with Brett Thorpe from Early Dawn Fishing Charters for a 'play' day, to see where the salmon had gone after the big southeast winds that were blowing.

We picked up four springs and managed to lose another for just under two hours of trolling in a lumpy northerly wind. The bite was pretty exciting with the largest spring salmon just over 20 pounds. There are a few big fish getting landed now (over 30 pounds), so it is nice to finally see them move into our waters.
